Abstract

Abstract: This memorandum examines and analyzes the mechanism of asset recovery as a key component of the fight against corruption at the national and international levels. It addresses the concept of corruption and its manifestations, 7the importance of recovering stolen assets, and its impact on national development. The memorandum also addresses international legal references, most notably the 2003 United Nations Convention against Corruption, as well as the role of international organizations and agreements in this field. On the national level, the various legal mechanisms adopted in Algeria, such as confiscation and financial investigations, are analyzed, their effectiveness assessed, and the challenges hindering their implementation are discussed. The study concludes with a set of proposals to enhance the effectiveness of the national system for asset recovery
